  • Cultural Heritage is the totality of tangible/physical elements [artefacts, buildings, monuments, sites] and intangible/ immaterial elements [faith, beliefs, wisdom, skills, values, tradition, language] that a community has created, appreciated and enjoyed and which was passed from generation to generation.
  • So, Cultural Heritage is a community’s expressions, ways of life, beliefs and perceptions that are passed from one generation to the next.
  • Cultural Heritage represents a community’s history and identity.
  • Cultural Heritage is a community’s label that functions as a distinguishing point between different communities.
