Natural heritage

Natural heritage includes everything that was created by nature and not by human hands.

  • Land and sea areas or a combination thereof.
  • Habitats (land and sea) [marítimo i tereste]of organisms such as plants, animals, microbes, etc. (biodiversity).
  • Bushes and vegetation.
  • Geological formations like: caves, mountains and plateaus, cavities, islands, peninsulas, bays.
  • Holes, lagoons, natural dams, water resources.
  • Sea, land, sand, sandstone and wind.
  • All of this considering a vision of science, conservation and natural beauty.

Natural heritage includes:

Everything that contributes to maintain and feed life among the mechanisms in a certain area, namely:

  • The life of plants, animals, microorganisms (ecosystem and biodiversity) [ekosistema i biodiversidat].
  • Their mutual relationships and their relationships with that part of nature that doesn’t have life: water, land and light.
  • Protected areas, natural parks, natural reserves, botanical gardens.
