Explain what makes these costumes a National Symbol.
They are the traditional outfits of our people. That’s how our people dressed in the past. They contain elements that we can identify ourselves with.

Parts of our culture. Our traditional folkloric outfits.

Have these costumes always been like that?
No. They were simpler and the shirts were often embroidered. Throughout the years the style changed. The long skirt with shirt did remain, however.

What changes have been made to these costumes over the years?
There was a change of the fabric (lace, cotton).
Change of design.
The fabric is more colorful and the head scarf is tied artistically.
